FT. WAYNE, Ind.- The Lawrence Tech Men's Soccer program hit the road for the first time this season on Saturday, October 10th, to take on the Warriors of Indiana Tech. The Blue Devils would be defeated by the Warriors 2-0 at Warrior Athletic Field in Ft. Wayne on Saturday night.
It was a defensive battle for thirty-plus minutes went away quickly as the Warriors broke through the Blue Devils' backline to make it 1-0 at the 34:51 mark of the first half. With that goal, the Blue Devils so far on defense have only given up two goals. As the Blue Devils looked to regroup, freshman Reece Still earned a yellow card at the 40:16 mark of the first half.
The Blue Devils headed into the half just down one and looking to break through offensively and knot it up at one apiece. But, as the second half got underway, the Blue Devils found themselves on the receiving end of another yellow card issued to senior Tyler Gregory at the 50:33 mark of the game. It was the second yellow card for the Blue Devils in the evening. The Warriors would get through the backline again, scoring at the 62:48 mark of the game to make it 2-0. That would punch the ticket for the night with that goal as the Blue Devils were never able to find the back of the net.
Overall the Blue Devils shot the ball seven times, with two of them on goal. Goalie Riley Alexander saw five shots on goal with two of them finding the back of the net.
The Blue Devils hit the pitch again with a game on Wednesday, October 14th, against Trine University, that games slated for a 7 pm start time. Then the Blue Devils face the Grey Wolves of Lourdes on Saturday, October 17th, that games slated for a 7 pm start time.
