Box Score Pontiac, Mich.- The Lawrence Tech Women's Soccer team hit the road for the first time in two weeks to take on the Warriors of Rochester University Saturday, October 24th in Pontiac, Michigan, at Ultimate Soccer. The result was the Blue Devils scoring six goals in a defying victory against the Warriors, which saw the freshman sensation Jenny Dear continue her streak of scoring alongside a hat trick for fellow freshman Jessica Koje.
The Blue Devils set the tone early in Pontiac with a goal at the 14:47 mark off a penalty shot from Jenny Dear that found the back of the net to make it 1-0. A little less than two minutes later, a pass from sophomore DiOnna Hill found freshman Jessica Koje open in flats to pop one in the net to make it 2-0. That would be the only two goals scored the rest of the first half for both teams as the Warriors locked in defensively for the remainder of the half. A little over 3:30 into the second half, the Blue Devils once again were on the attack. This time sophomore Dahlia Jerovsek scored off a pass from DiOnna Hill, making it 3-0. Jessica Koje scored her second goal of the evening coming off a pass from senior Rebekah Holbrook at the 60:55 mark of the game to go up 4-0. A little of 16 minutes pass when the Blue Devils score again with freshman Jessica Koje sealing the hat trick for herself off a pass from fellow freshman Andrea Williams to make it 5-0. The Blue Devils closed the victory with a goal from senior Lauren Wasiak off the assist from Madison Bologna, making it 6-0.
The Blue Devils had thirty shots on the evening, with nine total fouls, thirteen corner kicks, and one saves total for the game. Meanwhile, Makena White earned a yellow card in the evening at the 78:57 mark of the game. Goalie Rebbeca Almandoz had one save on the evening in a defensive shut out by the Blue Devils and Rebecca's second clean sheet of the season. Overall the Blue Devils have given up only two goals on defense this season.
Looking ahead, the Blue Devils close out the fall season taking on the Cardinals of Concordia Ann Arbor on Saturday, October 31st, at Blue Devils Stadium. Game time is slated for 7 pm in a Halloween evening showdown.
