SOUTHFIELD, Mich.- The Foresters (5-0) came to the Don Ridler Field House on Tuesday evening to take on the Blue Devils (2-1) in a non-conference clash. The Forester's hot hand in the Second half from beyond the three-point line was the deciding factor in tonight's game.
In what was a back and forth first half that showed both the Blue Devils and Forester's exchanging blows, the Blue Devils went into halftime down just one 43-44. Overall the Blue Devils were shooting 58 percent from the field, 38 percent from beyond the three-point arc, and 100 percent at the charity stripe. The second half was a different story for the Blue Devils as they struggled to knock down shots and get back in transition. The Blue Devils went cold shooting 25 percent from the field, 16 percent from beyond the three-point arc, and 75 percent from the charity stripe.
The Blue Devils went 26-62, shooting 41 percent from the field overall while going 8-31 shooting, 25 percent from the three-point arc. Meanwhile, the Blue Devils went 8-10, shooting 80 percent from the charity stripe on the evening.
Alek Ivanovic dropped 20 pts, 7 rebounds, and 2 assist to lead the Blue Devils. Brandon Beavers had 13 pts, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals. Gunnar Gustafson had 11 pts, 2 rebounds, 1 block, and 6 assists. Carter Frantz knocked in 9 pts, grabbed 3 rebounds, and 2 assists. Isaiah Cumberland had 4 pts, 9 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Sanna Sisawo had 4 pts, Arthur Asberry had 3 pts, Shamar Mathews had 3 pts, and Sebastian McClellan had 1 pt.
