Box Score Grand Rapids, Mich. – The Lawrence Tech Blue Devils looked to make it three in a row and improve to 4-5 on the season after taking on the Saints of Aquinas College. It was all but the case on Wednesday night in Grand Rapids as the Blue Devils would fall in three straight sets. The final of the first set was 25-19, set two was 25-12, and the third and final set was 25-17. The Blue Devils move to 3-6 on the year and 0-3 in WHAC play so far.
Overall the Blue Devils struggled across the board in the first set of the night; the Blue Devils had only 13 kills with a .143 percentage. Set two saw the Blue Devils only grab five kills and go .036. In the final set of the night, the Blue Devils would collect nine kills and go .062 in the last game.
The Blue Devils were lead by senior Joshua Eckert, who had nine and a half points and eight kills for the Blue Devils. Patrick Newell was the second-leading scorer on the night with seven and a half points and six kills. Zach Narkicwicz had six points, and Max Jewett had five and a half points on the night, respectively.
Looking ahead for the Blue Devils continue their road stretch as they head to Ft. Wayne, Indiana, on Wednesday, February 19, 2020, as they take on the Warriors of Indiana Tech inside the Schaefer Center. The Blue Devils look to grab their first conference win at the same time against the Warriors who are competing in their first year as a program. First, serve is slated for a 7:30 pm start time.
