Box Score SOUTHFIELD, Mich.- The Lawrence Tech Blue Devils came into this afternoons game against the Saints of Siena Heights looking for their first win since beating Concordia Ann Arbor back on January 29. The Blue Devils did just that on Saturday afternoon inside the Don Ridler Field with a convincing 95-88 win over the Saints. It marks the Blue Devils tenth win on the season and fifth conference win overall on the year.
Overall the Blue Devils played well across the board this afternoon shooting 33-61 (54.1%) from the field, going 11-24 (45.8%) from beyond the arc, and shooting 18-22 (81.8%) from the charity stripe. The Blue Devils five players in double digits led by Columbus, Ohio native Brandon Beavers with 22 points alongside, seven rebounds, and seven assists. Okemos, Michigan native Jordan Henry tallied 19 points tonight alongside with four assists on the afternoon. While the Milford, Michigan native Gunnar Gustafson had a double-double tonight with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Dansville, Michigan native Carter Frantz dropped 16 points tonight, grabbing five boards and 2 assists. Lastly, the Macomb, Michigan native Alek Ivanovic had 16 points with three rebounds and three assists. Heading into halftime, the Blue Devils had an eight-point lead and were in the driver seat for the rest of the game. As the Saints would try and clawback, the Blue Devils had a counter for every time. With a few defensive lapses by the Saints down the stretch allowing the Blue Devils to push their lead forward, the Blue Devils were locked in hitting shots left and right.
Looking ahead, the Blue Devils will hit the road for their final two games of the regular season heading to Sylvania, Ohio, on Wednesday, February 19, 2020, to take on the Grey Wolves and sweep the season series. The Blue Devils upset the 14th ranked Lourdes Grey Wolves back on January 15, 2020, inside the Don Ridler Field House. Tip-off is set for 8 pm inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.
The Blue Devils then hit the road to Rochester, Michigan, for their final regular-season game on Saturday, February 22, 2020, to take on the Warriors looking to split the series. The Blue Devils lost the first game of the matchup against Rochester University (Mich.) back on Wednesday, January 8, 2020, inside the Don Ridler Field House. Tip-off is slated for 3 pm in Garth Pleasant Arena.
