HOW IT HAPPENED
The men kept the game close in the first set against the Warriors. The men grabbed 15 kills to the Warriors 13, but they faltered in errors, grabbing eight. Indiana Tech also grabbed three aces to the Blue Devil (3-7, 0-4) zero, falling 26-23.
In the second set, it was just as close. with LTU grabbing 14 kills to Indiana Tech's 13. Again, the Blue Devils fell on their own sword with 10 attack errors, while the Warriors kept it to a clean 4. While LTU kept close once again, forcing the set to go over in points, the Warriors stuck it out and won the second set 27-25.
In the third and final set, LTU dominated from the beginning, going onto a 20-15 lead. However, a late surge made by Indiana Tech proved to be too much after an attack error from LTU caused the two teams to tie it up 24-24. Then, back to back kills sealed the win for the Warriors at 26-24. The 23 errors on the night, including eight service errors, did not bode well for LTU in the end, being the main contributor to their loss.
Up next, the Blue Devils come home for a match on Saturday, February 22nd against Goshen College where the first serve is set for 1:00 p.m..
