Southfield, MI - The Lawrence Technological University men's soccer team was at home where they took on the Cardinals of Concordia University - Ann Arbor. LTU's fantastic defense was a big help in their 3-0 victory on Saturday afternoon.

LTU could not buy a goal in the first half after nailing the post three times on eight shots. Both teams played great defensively where the score was tied at zero heading into the half.

The offense for the Blue Devils was on the gas pedal early in the second half. Just two minutes into the half, in the 47th minute Jacob Schleicher found the back of the net for his first goal of the season to give his team a 1-0 lead. 

In the 75th minute of play, defender Bryce Nicholson headed a ball across to teammate Gonzalo Sanz to extend the lead 2-0. 

Not long after their second goal, in the 88th minute, Ty Cerget crossed a great ball across the field that found the right foot of Alex Fernandez to get past the goalie for the last goal of the match.

LTU won 3-0.

LTU held the Cardinals to only three shots, and for the first time all season held their opponent to zero shots on goal. 

Goalkeeper, Marko Matovski earned his third win of the season. 

The Blue Devils' next match is on Wednesday, October 20th on the road against Rochester University. This match will begin at 1:30 PM.
