Box Score Dearborn, MI – The Lawrence Technological University ACHA D1 men's hockey team trailed the University of Michigan-Dearborn Wolverines five times before finally winning in overtime on a powerplay goal to take the high scoring affair 7-6.
How It Happened:
- The Wolverines raced out to a 2-0 lead in the first before Keegan Rundle set up Blake Heier at the 17:34 mark to trail 2-1 at the intermission
- Heier tied the game on a shorthanded marker from Alec Allen less than five minutes into the second period
- UMD retook the lead four minutes later before Heier's power play goal, his third of the game, at the 11:39 mark tied the score at 3-3
- The Wolverines answered a few minutes later to hold a 4-3 advantage after 40 minutes of play
- Thimo Ey scored his eighth goal of the season, 3:21 into the third, to knot the game 4-4
- After the squads traded markers in a span of 22 seconds, the Wolverines netted their sixth goal of the contest at the 10:53 mark to hold the slim 6-5 lead
- Once again, the Blue Devils responded quickly as Allen found Heier for his fourth goal of the contest as the game headed to OT tied 6-6
- UMD took a tripping penalty 44 seconds into the period and LTU made them pay as Jordon Wotyas netted the game winner, off passes from Ethan Grover and James Jentz
