Livonia, MI – The Lawrence Technological University women's soccer team took on the Madonna Crusaders in a battle of WHAC teams.

Madonna was aggressive early, with a header and a Rebecca Almandoz save in the first minute.

Then, a Megan Verant shot set up by Grace Thomas hit the back of the net in the 4th minute to give the Crusaders a 1-0 lead.

Before you could blink, Madonna tacked on another goal. This time, Thomas scored, off an assist from Morgan Stack, making it 2-0 in the 5th minute.

Madonna stayed on the attack, outshooting Lawrence Tech 15-3 (8-2 on goal) in the first half.

The second half was more of the same, with the Crusaders taking 14 shots to the Blue Devils' four.

Rebecca Almandoz recorded six saves in the first half before being relieved.

Sydney Schnurstein played the second half in goal, recording six saves.

The Blue Devils (4-5-1) return home for their next matchup, against Aquinas on Wednesday, October 6 at 7 pm at Blue Devil Stadium.
