Box Score Southfield, MI – The Lawrence Technological University women's soccer team took on the Rochester Warriors in a battle of WHAC teams.
In the first half, the Blue Devils were very aggressive, early and often. They spent a lot of time in their offensive zone, taking a lot of shots.
Within the first 11 minutes of action, the Blue Devils took five shots. Their sixth shot Jenny Dear prepared DiOnna Hil to set up a Lauren Wasiak goal to start off the scoring.
It wasn't until the 20th minute until Rochester got their first shot up.
DiOnna Hill added to the scoring in the 22nd minute, assisted by Madison Bologna, giving the Blue Devils an early 2-0 lead.
In the 33rd minute, Jenny Dear tacked on another to make it a 3-0 game.
That would be all for the first half, Lawrence Tech outshot Rochester 19-3 (9-1 on goal).
The second half was pretty similar, with the Blue Devils dominating possession once again.
LTU took 15 more shots in the second half, to Rochester's four.
DiOnna Hill scored a second goal on the evening in the 57th minute, off a beautiful set piece by Mikayla Waranauckas, with Rebekah Holbrook contributing to the play.
Next thing you know, Rochester put one on the board. Lessly Bermudez scores in the 58th from Hanna Swanson and Madison Pelczarski.
Andrea Williams added to the scoring in the 82nd minute, with her first goal of the season, off assists by Lauren Wasiak and Mikayla Waranauckas.
In the 84th minute, Jenny Dear scored a second goal of the night as well, assisted by Sam Gorzynski.
Dahlia Jerovsek capped the scoring with a breakaway goal in the 89th minute, her first of the season.
Sydney Schnurstein played over 80 minutes and recorded 2 saves.
Madison Turley played eight minutes in relief.
The Blue Devils (5-7-2; 2-4-1) travel to Lourdes (7-3-5) for their next matchup, the all-cancer match, on Saturday, October 23 at 12 pm in Sylvania, OH.
