Box Score Southfield, MI – The Lawrence Technological University women's volleyball team dropped a lengthy first set before taking the next three to defeat the University of Northwestern Ohio Racers by scores of 27-29, 25-22, 25-15, 25-15 on Saturday afternoon.
First Set:
- Lindsay Hubler kill gave LTU their first lead of the set at 16-15
- Gneiss Aramburu found Lindsay Hubler to make it match point at 25-24
- UNOH survived two match points before a pair of attack errors gave UNOH the set
Second Set:
- Madeline Hudson kill put LTU up 15-9
- The Racers cut the margin to one at 20-19
- Nicole Whan service ace combined with several UNOH errors swayed the set to LTU
Third Set:
- Whan found Lexie Kallio for an early 11-5 advantage to force a UNOH timeout
- Erika Reed kill expanded the Blue Devils lead to double digits at 19-8
- Once again errors plagued the Racers down the stretch as four errors helped LTU take a 2-1 lead
Fourth Set:
- The Blue Devils began the set on a 10-1 run to force a UNOH timeout
- Whan again set up Kallio to push the margin to 12 at 17-5 but UNOH trimmed the deficit to 18-11 to force an LTU timeout
- Kills by Madison Morris and Hubler halted any comeback attempt as LTU cruised to the set win
