Box Score Farmington Hills, MI – The Lawrence Technological University ACHA D1 men's hockey team was tied a 1-1 with the Aquinas College Saints but their offense was stymied over the final two periods as they fell 4-1 on Saturday evening to split the home-and-home weekend series.
How It Happened:
- The Saints began the scoring 9:50 into the first period to take the early lead
- The Blue Devils knotted the game before the intermission via a power-play goal from Sean Pilet off assists from Cole Therrian and Alec Allen at the 19:04 mark
- Aquinas retook the lead on a power-play goal of their own, 5:40 into the second period
- LTU committed a cardinal sin of hockey as they allowed another Aquinas marker with less than a minute to go in the period, as a goal with 18.1 seconds left gave the Saints a 3-1 advantage heading to the third period
- A quiet final period ended with an Aquinas empty netter to seal a 4-1 win
