Box Score Rio Grande, OH - The Lawrence Technological University women's basketball traveled to the RedStorm Classic and took on the Indiana East Red Wolves.
Kendall Fisher led the Blue Devils with 14 points and seven assists.
Kylee Batey added 11 points and 12 rebounds. Kirstyn Lunniss contributed 10 points and eight rebounds off the bench.
The Blue Devils opened up the scoring with a pair of
Julia Huey baskets, a two and a three, to give them the early five-point advantage.
The Red Wolves stormed back with an 8-0 run of their own over the next three minutes to give them an 8-5 lead with about five minutes to play before
Kylee Batey put an end to the scoreless drought for the Blue Devils.
The Red Wolves would go on another 6-0 run to end the quarter following Batey's score, giving them a 14-7 edge after one quarter.
The teams would trade baskets until the Red Wolves went on an 11-3 run spanning three minutes, giving them a 29-15 lead.
From there, it was an uphill trek for the Blue Devils to try to even it up.
A Kirstyn Lunniss free throw followed by a Batey jumper cut the deficit to 11, but Kennedy Griffin's triple extended it back to 14.
The teams traded baskets until the end of the quarter when Lunniss knocked down two free throws. Lunniss started off the second half with a shot and a foul, giving her a free throw that she converted. This brought the game to 36-28.
A short 6-0 run by the Red Wolves now extended the lead to 12.
The teams traded baskets for the remainder of the quarter, and the Red Wolves led 55-44 after three.
The Red Wolves start the fourth on a 5-0 run over the first two and a half minutes before a
Kendall Fisher jumper halts that run.
After the Red Wolves took a 66-48 lead, Fisher goes on a personal 5-0 run to cut the deficit to 13, but that's the closest they would get.
The Red Wolves close the game off on a 9-6 run over the final 4:53, to win 75-59.
