Benton Harbor, MI – The Lawrence Technological University men's golf team won the eight-team Harbor Shores Intercollegiate event on Tuesday afternoon with a team score of 587 (+19).
Bruno Vicente won the event as he was the only golfer in the 45-player field to shoot under par for the event (-3). The sophomore posted rounds of 69 and 70 on the Par 71 Harbor Shores Golf Club track to win by four strokes.
The Blue Devils were the only five-man group to record team scores of under 300 (297 & 290) on each day of the event to beat Spring Arbor by nine strokes.
Freshman Thomas Delmas rebounded from an opening-round 75 to card an even-par 71 on Tuesday and jump up five spots to finish solo third.
Luis Pacheco also earned himself a top-five finish as he posted scores of 73 and 74 to place in a tie for fourth.
Lawrence Tech, who was receiving votes in the NAIA Men's Golf Coaches' Preseason Poll back on August 27th, will now wait to see if it cracks the Top 25 in Friday's first poll.
The Blue Devils enjoy a break before they close out their fall season on October 18th & 19th when they host the LTU Heritage Hill Fall Collegiate in Shepherdsville, Kentucky.
