Farmington, MI - The Lawrence Technological University Blue Devils ACHA D1 Hockey team came home for their home opener, the beginning of a home-and-home series with Rochester University, with an 8-2 victory

How It Happened:

First Period:

• The Warriors scored late into the first period to take a 1-0 advantage to intermission.

Second Period:

• Blake Heier scored on a short-handed goal off an assist from Brenden Preiss.
• At the 10:45 mark, Bryce Ebert joined in on the scoring, at even strength, to give the Blue Devils a 2-1 lead. A lead that would not be relinquished.
• Shortly after that (18 seconds later, to be exact) Thimo Ey set up Jordon Woytas to extend their lead.
• Preiss found the back of the net with 45 seconds remaining in the period. An even-strength goal to expand the Warrior deficit to 4-1.

Third Period

• After a four-goal second period, the scoring parade continued in the third.
• Rochester scores at even-strength to make it 4-2.
• Ey scores at the 12:35 mark off a pretty pass by Erik Engdahl.
• Woytas tallies a second goal, set up by Ey--again--and Ethan Grover.
• Thimo Ey scores his second goal, a power-play goal, with Sean Pilet and Cole Therrian assisting.
• Ey gets the hat trick with 43 seconds left off a breakaway. He would not be denied, after taking two shots, the third one reached the back of the net, for his second consecutive hat trick.

Lawrence Tech faces Rochester on the road on Saturday, October 9th at Fraser Hockeyland at 1:30 pm.
