Box Score Farmington, MI - The Lawrence Technological University Blue Devils ACHA D1 Hockey team came home for their home opener, the beginning of a home-and-home series with Rochester University, with an 8-2 victory
How It Happened:
First Period:
- The Warriors scored late into the first period to take a 1-0 advantage to intermission.
Second Period:
- Blake Heier scored on a short-handed goal off an assist from Brenden Preiss.
- At the 10:45 mark, Bryce Ebert joined in on the scoring, at even strength, to give the Blue Devils a 2-1 lead. A lead that would not be relinquished.
- Shortly after that (18 seconds later, to be exact) Thimo Ey set up Jordon Woytas to extend their lead.
- Preiss found the back of the net with 45 seconds remaining in the period. An even-strength goal to expand the Warrior deficit to 4-1.
Third Period
- After a four-goal second period, the scoring parade continued in the third.
- Rochester scores at even-strength to make it 4-2.
- Ey scores at the 12:35 mark off a pretty pass by Erik Engdahl.
- Woytas tallies a second goal, set up by Ey--again--and Ethan Grover.
- Thimo Ey scores his second goal, a power-play goal, with Sean Pilet and Cole Therrian assisting.
- Ey gets the hat trick with 43 seconds left off a breakaway. He would not be denied, after taking two shots, the third one reached the back of the net, for his second consecutive hat trick.
