Indianapolis, Ind. - The Lawrence Technological University football team finished their 2021 season on a tough note, falling to the #8 Marian University Knights 41-7 on Saturday afternoon.

The Blue Devils finished the season with a 7-4 overall record. The seven wins is a single-season record since the reboot in 2018 while also eclipsing the program win total (6) over the past three seasons.

First Half

• Marian punched it in from three yards out on its second drive of the game to open up the scoring, 7-0, with 5:42 left in the first quarter
• After Tyler Kulka was intercepted on the next series at the LTU 43, the Knights used a 41-yd completion to get it down to the LTU 1 before rushing it in to double their lead
• The Blue Devils responded on the kickoff as a 38-yd return by Marquise Thorns put good field position at their own 46
• 10 plays later, Kulka sneaked it in from a yard out to make it a 14-7 game less than a minute into the second quarter
• The Knights extended the margin back to 14 with a 17-yd TD pass halfway through the second after starting the drive at midfield
• After a three-and-out by LTU, Marian hit a big play as an 83-yd TD strike on 2nd-and-7 extended the score to 28-7 with three minutes to go until halftime
• Marian capitalized on another LTU three-and-out as they went 69 yards in five plays to add seven more on the board on a 1-yd rushing TD with 34 second left in the quarter

Second Half:

• The Knights got the ball on the second half kick and picked up right where they left off as they marched 70 yards in 10 plays to push the score to 41-7 on a 3-yd run with 11:09 left in the third quarter
• The Blue Devils answered with a 14-play drive on the following possession, but it ended with a blocked 37-yd field goal
• Tommy Lappin came up with an interception on the ensuing series, but LTU turned the ball over on downs at the Marian 22 on fourth down 1:44 into the fourth quarter
• The teams traded punts down the stretch before time expired on the Blue Devil's final possession
