#18 Blue Devils Net Six Goals in Second, Win 8-2

Chelsea, Mich. – The #18 Lawrence Technological University ACHA D1 men's hockey team used a six-goal second period to pull away from the Concordia University Ann Arbor Cardinals 8-2 on Friday evening.

How It Happened:

  • The teams traded tallies in the first 20 minutes to head to the intermission tied at 1-1
  • 4:09 into the second, John Horn scored on the power play off a helper from Alec Allen
  • Thimo Ey scored a pair of goals in the next 2:09 to extend the margin to three at 4-1
  • Less than two minutes later, Jordon Woytas added an unassisted goal as LTU held a 5-1 advantage 8:16 into the second period
  • Horn netted his second goal of the period at the 12:12 mark, again via the power play, off an assist from Ey
  • 29 second later, Blake Heier scored a shorthanded goal to stretch the score to 7-1 after 40 minutes of play
  • The Cardinals got one back four minutes into the third before Erik Engdahl netted LTU's final goal of the night, with the man advantage, to cap off the 8-2 victory
