#18 LTU Scores Three in Third Period, Wins 5-3

Farmington Hills, Mich. – The #18 Lawrence Technological University ACHA D1 men's hockey team used a three-goal third period to comeback from a 3-2 deficit to defeat the Concordia University Ann Arbor Cardinals 5-3 on Saturday evening.

How It Happened:

  • After a quiet opening period, LTU got on the board right before intermission as Keegan Rundle netted his first collegiate goal with 30 seconds left in the first
  • The Cardinals tied it 2:17 into the second on an even strength tally before adding another one 47 seconds later to take the 2-1 lead
  • Ethan Grover knotted the game back up with 6:42 left in the second off assists from Alec Allen and James Jentz
  • Concordia responded a little over three minutes later, skating a man down, to take the 3-2 advantage into the second intermission
  • LTU answered 1:06 into the third as Thimo Ey scored on the power play to tie the game at 3-3
  • The Blue Devils added some insurance nearly halfway through the frame as John Horn scored with 11:21 left before Jacob Stawinski added another 18 seconds later to secure the 5-3 victory
