Box Score Dearborn, Mich – The Lawrence Technological University women's volleyball team finished out the 2021 season by dropping a five-setter to the University of Michigan-Dearborn Wolverines 27-25, 25-22, 22-25, 21-15, 13-15 on Saturday afternoon.
First Set:
- Riley O'Connell kill put LTU ahead 11-8
- Madison Morris extended the lead to five at 19-14
- UMD tied the set at 25-25, but two errors gave the set to LTU
Second Set:
- Ellery Cure kill made it 12-9 LTU
- Wolverines turned the table to take an 18-15 lead
- LTU trailed 22-19 but rattled off six straight to take a 2-0 match lead
Third Set:
- Madeline Hudson service ace knotted the match at 11-11
- UMD took 6-of-9 to take 17-14 lead
- Hubler kill retied set at 18-18, but won 7-of-11 win to the set
Fourth Set:
- Erika Reed finish tied set at 10-10
- Wolverines opened up a five-point lead, 18-13, before errors pulled LTU within two at 18-16
- UMD recovered to win the next three points and never relented the lead as they forced a fifth set
Fifth Set:
- Gneiss Aramburu set up Reed to tie the set at 8-8
- Wolverines won the next four points to open up a 12-8 advantage
- LTU rebounded to win the next three, but the teams traded points down the stretch as UMD won it 15-13
