Grand Rapids, MI - The Lawrence Tech Men's & Women's Track and Field Team finished 6th for women and 7th for men at the Aquinas Invitational inside the Alkanis Athletic and Recreation Building. This was their first invitational of the 2021 season for both teams. They will look to build of this performance as they approach two big events this weekend. One being the WHAC Indoor Championships. 

In the Women 1 mile run, there were 14 women who competed in this event, and Darbey Johnson (JR/ Swartz Creek, MI) finished in 7th with a time of 5:33.92. Following the women 1 mile run, in the 8th event on the day with the men 1 mile run, Nolan McGahan (JR/Brighton, MI) finished 4th out of 7 with a time of 4:50.74. The men 800 meter run there were only four runners and your Blue Devil, Juwanna Morris (SO/Port Austin, MI) finished 3rd with a final time of 2:16.22. There were two women runners in the 1000 meter run. Out of 5 runners, LTU finished 4th and 5th. Finishing 4th was Kaitlin Pickart (SO/Juneau, Wisconsin) and finishing 5th was Erin Mccardell (SO/Rochester, MI). Following that event, the next event was the men's 1000 meter run. Finishing 7th out of 8th was Hunter Richards (SO/Yale, MI) with a final time of 2:49.42.

The team ranking results on the weekend are below. Lawrence Tech women finished with a total score of 14. The men finished with a total score of 15. 

Going into the weekend both the LTU Men's and Women's Track and Field Teams will look to compete for a top spot at the Silverston Invitational at University of Michigan on Friday, February 19th. They will also look for a top place finish while competing at the WHAC Indoor Championships at Aquinas on Saturday, February 20th. Both events will begin at 8am EST.
