SAGINAW, MICH. - The Lawrence Tech University Blue Devils Men's and Women's Track and Field teams faced off at the Saginaw Valley State Holiday Open in Saginaw, Michigan, on December 5, 2025. The event showcased a series of track and field events where both teams demonstrated strong performances across various disciplines. 13 school records were broke, 3 athletes qualified for Nationals, and there were over thirty PRs across the entire team
The women had an outstanding weekend with three athletes qualifying for finals in the 60m hurdles
Martina Montserrat Vilar,
Jayde Ullenbruch, and
Latrice Williams.
Latrice Williams with her hurdle run broke the school's record with a 8.69, qualifying for Nationals and putting her first in the WHAC and NAIA rankings. In Women's high jump
Cyla Williams placed 2nd with a school record of 1.62m. In women's throwing two school records were broke.
Isabella DeLong broke the shot put record with 10.78m and
Nevaeh Paylor broke the weight throw with 13.67m.
The men also had an amazing weekend with three athletes qualifying for finals in the 60m dash,
Jamal Rudolph, Jalen McNair, and Franklin "Frankie" Swanson. Franklin Swanson won the 60m dash with a 6.77 qualifying for Nationals. Franklin Swanson also won the 200m with a 21.61 qualifying for Nationals in the 200m as well.
Jamal Rudolph placed fourth with a 22.10 in the 200m. Two men ran under a 50 second 400m,
Adrian Smith Jr. and Camron Kress.
Adrian Smith Jr. now has the school record with a 49.41 in the 400m. In the 800m
Arline Lile had a lifetime best placing fourth and Griffin Armburstmacher got a school record finishing second with a PR. The men had two runners with top ten mile finishes,
Alec Shaw and Noah Blandini. Men's also had a school record in 60 m with a 8.47 by
Camron Krebs qualifying him for finals in his debut.
Looking ahead, the Blue Devils are set to participate in their next track and field event at the Heminger Center in Tiffin, Ohio, on December 13, 2025. They will compete in the Tiffin Alumni Open, which promises another opportunity for the athletes to showcase their skills and improve their performances.
