Lima, Ohio – The Lawrence Tech Women's Volleyball team had no trouble in the match on Friday in Lima, Ohio as they were able to cap off a 3-0 victory against UNOH on the road. LTU started off hot from the very first serve of the match and never looked back. The Blue Devils won the first set 25-19. There was more of a challenge in the second set as UNOH tried to steal a set, but the defense of LTU came through late and were able to win 25-23. The third and final set was a final score 25-22, giving LTU the win. This now moves the team up to 7th in the conference, but if the team continues to play like they did on Friday night, they should continue to slide up in the WHAC standings.
Leading the team in total kills was Isabella McDonald with 15, and Madeline Hudson was also capable of adding 14 kills. LTU's leader in kill percentage for the match was Hudson with a very impressive percentage of .500. Marriya Henry was second in the teams kill percentage in this match finishing with .375 on the night. Defensively, Nichole Hyduk and Jessica Lodge were the leaders for the team in digs helping the team with any tough plays. Hyduk finished with 11 digs, while Lodge finished with 6. Once again for another game Nicole Whan, and Gneiss Aramburu came up big making big time plays when the team needed it, finishing the game with double digit assist against. Whan finished with 17 and Aramburu finished with 12. The leaders on the night for the Blue Devils in total points were Jessica Lodge with 12.5 total points and Madeline Hudson with 12 total points. By the end of the match the team's total attacks were 93. Team total in kills were 33 and the team's total assists were 31.
The Lawrence Tech Blue Devils (3-6 overall, 3-6 WHAC) next match will be Friday, Sunday, February 28th at home as the team will face off against Madonna University inside the Don Ridler Fieldhouse.
