SOUTHFIELD, Mich.- Men's basketball took to the court Wednesday, February 3rd, inside the Don Ridler Field House to take on WHAC foe Madonna in a crucial game for both teams. The result was Madonna coming out on top over Lawrence Tech 74-63. The Blue Devils are currently without four role players, including two starters in Brandon Beavers and Isaiah Cumberland.
The Blue Devils came out of the first half frazzled on offense due to the Crusaders' stifling defense that caused 9 turnovers. The Blue Devils looked for a spark off the bench in the first half turning to Demond Mills-Bradley for the spark. Mills-Bradley went 3-4 and knocked down 2 three-point baskets. However, that wasn't enough for the Blue Devils, who headed into half down by 10 to the Crusaders.
The second half for the Blue Devils was a different story, especially from beyond the arc where the Blue Devils struggled. However, the charity stripe was not a struggle for the Blue Devils, who shot 88.9% from the line in the second half.
Sanna Sisawo leads the Blue Devils Wednesday night with 18 pts. Demond Mills-Bradley had 13 pts, and Tyler Balon had 10 pts. Alek Ivanovic had 9 pts, and Carter Frantz had 7 pts on the evening. The Blue Devils shot 40% from the field Wednesday. They also shot 32.1% from beyond the arc and 76.9% from the charity stripe on the night.
