Box Score FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich.- The Division 1 men's hockey team returned home to face off against Indiana Tech for game two of the weekend series Saturday night at the Farmington Hills Ice Arena. The result was a highly contested game against both squads resulting in a 3-2 shootout loss for the Blue Devils.
Indiana Tech was on the board first, scoring at the 10:07 mark of the first period. The Blue Devils knotted it up at 1-1 with Blake Heier's goal at the 17:45 mark of the second period, with the assist coming from Brenden Preiss. A series of powerplay goals by either team in the third period knotted it all up at 2-2, heading into overtime. Edward Flood grabbed the goal on the Blue Devils' powerplay at the 14:39 mark of the third period. A shootout after the overtime period had Indiana Tech outshoot the Blue Devils 2-1.
Overall, Lawrence Tech had 34 shots in the game compared to 33 by the Warriors. The Blue Devils went 1 of 4 or 25% on powerplay execution on the evening and had 25 minutes of penalty minutes on 7 infractions.
