Grand Rapids, Mich. – The Lawrence Tech Women's Volleyball team lost their road match to the Golden Eagles of Cornerstone University on Tuesday, February 9th. The undefeated (7-0) Golden Eagles competed as a collective group tonight and took care of business as they won in straight sets against your Blue Devils. This was Lawrence Tech's first game back since October, so they are still searching for their identity as a team. That will come as they continue to play games, but just couldn't get the job done tonight. They competed and played very hard and are looking to bounce back next match. Leading the team in total kills was Senior Jessica Lodge with 9. The team leader in hitting percentage for the match was Nicole Whan with a percentage of .600. Right behind her in hitting percentage for the match was Freshman Riley O'Connell with .111. Nicole Whan and Gniess Aramburu both led the Blue Devils with double digit assists with 11. Leading the team in digs for the game was Nichole Hyduk with 12, and two other Blue Devils who played very well defensively were Jessica Lodge and Alysha Vipushan. The leaders on the night for the Blue Devils in total points were Jessica Lodge with 9 and Riley O'Connell with 5.5. By the end of the match the team's total attacks were 117. Team total in kills were 27 and the teams total in assist were 26.
The Lawrence Tech Blue Devils (1-4) next match will be Saturday, February 20th at home against Lourdes University inside the Don Ridler Fieldhouse.
