Box Score Southfield, MI - The Lawrence Technological University Blue Devils women's soccer team took the field at home on Wednesday evening and faced off against the University of St. Francis Cougars, winning 3-0.
In the first half, DiOnna Hill started off the scoring in the 8th minute with a boot from 20 yards to give the Blue Devils a 1-0 lead.
The Blue Devils were able to keep the ball in the Cougars offensive zone for most of the half, only allowing three shots, two of which were on goal. Lawrence Tech had eight shots in the first half.
In the second half, they dominated possession even more, taking 15 shots while not allowing one.
Mikayla Waranauckas tallied her first goal as a Blue Devil in the 51st minute off a corner kick.
DiOnna Hill tacked on another goal in the 84th minute from inside the 18-yard box, for her second of the evening and fourth of the season, to slam the door shut on any type of Cougar comeback.
LTU outshot USF 23-3 (15-2 on goal) for the match.
Rebecca Almandoz had a clean first half to move to (1-1) on the season.
The Blue Devils (3-1-1) head on the road Saturday to square off against Mount Vernon Nazarene (2-3) in Mount Vernon, Ohio at 7 pm.
