Box Score Mt. Vernon, OH - The Lawrence Technological University Blue Devils women's soccer team hit the road on Saturday evening to square off against Mount Vernon Nazarene (2-3) where the Blue Devils suffered their second loss of the season.
In the first half, Ashley Townsend started off the scoring in the 27th minute off an assist by MacKenzie Thorn's corner kick.
The rest of the first half was relatively light. Jenny Dear led all players with four shots during the half.
In the second half, Maliea May got the Blue Devils on the board in the 70th minute to tie the game at one. Paris Rettig with the assist.
Mount Vernon would go on to tack on two late goals, first, Ashley Townsend sets up Sara Townsend, then A. Townsend would score again in the 83rd minute off a penalty shot to put the Blue Devils away.
Rebecca Almandoz took the loss, making two saves.
The Blue Devils (3-2-1) come home to square off against IU Wesleyan on Wednesday, September 22 at 7 pm.
