Mount Vernon, OH - The Lawrence Technological University men's soccer team was on the road Wednesday night in Ohio where they competed against Mount Vernon Nazarene University in the pouring rain and lost a close battle 2-1. 

The Blue Devils found themselves down early in the first half from two Mount Vernon Nazarene goals that came in just nine minutes of play. LTU was not able to find the back of the net in the first half.

MVNU entered the half up 2-0. 

An opportunity from LTU came in the 60th minute of play as Alvaro Merino found just the right angle to find the back of the net to shrink his teams' lead to 2-1. Merino took four total shots, three on goal.

The goal was assisted by Skander Larfaoui.

The Blue Devils were able to connect on 19 shots in this one, 11 being on goal.

Goalie, Riley Alexander faced four shots on goal coming up with two saves.  

The Blue Devils' next match is Saturday, September 25th at home as they host conference opponent, the University of Northwestern Ohio. This match will begin at 7 PM
