Box Score Southfield, MI - The Lawrence Technological University men's soccer team hosted conference opponent the University of Northwestern Ohio at home on Saturday night September 25th for the Charity Ball game. LTU went down early but was able to recover as it won this one 5-4.
LTU gave up the quickest goal of its season to UNOH in the first minute of play to fall behind 1-0.
Not long after that, Alvaro Merino knotted things back up at one in the ninth minute of play for LTU off a headed goal that was assisted by Reece Still.
Shortly after, in the 22nd minute, Zane Arnold bent one in that found the top right corner of the net to put the Blue Devils up 2-1. The goal was assisted by Skander Larfaoui.
Later in the first half, LTU was awarded a penalty shot in the 32nd minute where Juan Jaramillo blasted the PK top left corner. This put LTU up 3-1 heading into the half.
Five minutes into the second half the Blue Devils extended their lead from a goal scored by Alberto Morera, assisted by Juan Jaramillo.
UNOH did not back down and scored three unanswered goals within a six-minute span to tie the game at four midway through the second half.
In the 76th minute, a corner kick was awarded to LTU as Juan Jaramillo struck a shot that curved into the right bottom of the net to seal the victory for LTU 5-4.
LTU made the most of its six shots on goal, scoring four times in addition to the penalty kick goal.
Goalkeeper, Riley Alexander secured his fourth win on the season as he saw seven shots on goal and made three saves in this match.
The Blue Devils' next match is on Wednesday, September 29th against the University of Michigan-Dearborn at home. This match will begin at 7 PM.
