Box Score Southfield, MI. – The Lawrence Technological University football team made the long trip to Bluefield State College and left with a win as a 7-7 halftime score ended in a 21-14 win for the Blue Devils to improve to 2-0.
The Highlights:
- On the first Bluefield drive of the game, Christian Broaden had a 31-yard scoop and score to put LTU up 7-0
- After a failed onside kick, the Big Blue converted and then some on a 3 and 9 as a 39-yard TD pass knotted the game at 7-7, four minutes into the ball game
- LTU went three and out to start the second half and Bluefield capitalized with a four-play, 56-yard drive that ended with a 13-yard TD strike to make it 14-7
- Off of a shanked punt by the Big Blue, the Blue Devils started on their opponent's 4-yard line and a Tyler Kulka 6-yard TD pass knotted the game at 14-14 in the third quarter.
- Lawrence Tech put together arguably its best drive of the day to start the fourth as Kulka led the offensive on a 7-play, 65-yard drive that resulted in a 15-yard TD reception by Matthew Ransome.
