Frankenmuth, MI – The Lawrence Technological University men's and women's golf teams completed the two-day LTU Invite at The Fortress on Wednesday afternoon.
The women finished second in the three-team event with a score of 681, 27 strokes behind the winners from Northwestern Ohio.
Three Blue Devils recorded top-five finishes in the 19-player field as Lauren Hartline took third with a 165 (81, 84) as she ended 21-over. Rachel Kristian was one stroke back (+22) as she carded two low 80s rounds of 82 and 84.
Julia Lefere posted an 84 and 83 to end the event +23 (167) for a fifth-place finish.
On the men's side, Lawrence Tech entered three teams into the five-team field with the Blue Devils A team capturing the title with a 599 (286, 313).
The Blue Devils took the top-four spots in the 32-player field with Luis Pacheco earning first-place at 2-over. The sophomore shot a 3-under, 69 on Tuesday before carding a 77 today to edge teammate Thomas Delmas by one stroke.
The freshman from France, was consistent at The Fortress as he posted a 73 and 74 to finish 3-over while another freshman from down under, Liam McEvoy, shot 71 and 76 to tie Delmas at 3-over.
Bruno Vicente opened up strong on Tuesday with a 1-under 71 but fell back a couple of spots with a 79 on Wednesday to end up fourth at 6-over.
The Lawrence Tech golf teams head to Treetops Resort in Gaylord, Michigan next Monday, September 20th for the two-day LTU Blue Devil Classic.
