Southfield, Mich. – The Lawrence Technological University men's volleyball team took the floor inside the Don Ridler Field House for their home opener on Wednesday night, coming away with a four-set victory over Trine (25-19, 19-25, 25-16, 25-22).

First Set:

• Simon Phillip found Jeffrey Fuhrmann to make it 8-2 early on
• Trine attack error extends LTU lead to 10 at 16-6
• 9-3 run by Trine cuts deficit to 19-15 to force LTU timeout
• Ian Marquez records a kill out of the timeout to settle down LTU
• Four errors doom the Thunder down the stretch as LTU takes it 25-19

Second Set:

• This time Trine jumps out to 8-3 lead
• Connor Cooper kill holds deficit at six, 16-10
• JT McCarthy makes it 23-18 Trine before LTU drops set two 25-19

• Three straight Thunder service aces force Blue Devils timeout trailing 11-10
• Four Trine errors flip set in LTU's favor at 17-13
• Bartosz Rauch kill puts LTU up seven, 22-15, on way to 25-16 win

Fourth Set:

• Collin Holt sets up Marquez for 12-8 advantage
• Trine kill after timeout trims margin to two, 18-16
• McCarthy finish holds Thunder at arms distance at 23-20
• Phillip finish ends match for LTU with 25-22 fourth set win
