Box Score 2 Crestview Hills, Ky. – The Lawrence Technological University men's volleyball team season won a pair of matches in straight sets, defeating Lincoln College (Ill.) (25-19, 25-14, 25-20) before blanking host Thomas More (25-13, 25-22, 25-21), on Saturday afternoon.
Match One vs Lincoln:
First Set:
- JT McCarthy kill doubles up Lincoln 12-6
- The Lynx trimmed the margin to four, 19-15, but the Blue Devils responded by winning the next three points (22-15)
- Simon Phillip set up Jeffry Fuhrmann to make it 23-17 before a pair of Lynx service errors closed out the first set for LTU 25-19
Second Set:
- LTU raced out to a 9-1 lead in set two
- Andrew Lee found Fuhrmann to keep the cushion at seven, 16-9
- Bartosz Rauch kill bumped the margin to eight at 20-12
- LTU took five of the last seven points to take set two 25-14
Third Set:
- Three straight McCarthy kills opens up 13-10 LTU lead to force Lynx timeout
- Lee finds Felix Perez to extend the lead to five at 19-14
- Lincoln cuts the deficit to three, 22-19, before three errors stop any comeback hopes as the Blue Devils clinch the match with a 25-20 third set win
