SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – The Lawrence Technological University women's volleyball team dropped a four-set match to the University o Northwest Ohio Racers on Saturday in WHAC matinee play.
First Set:
- Abby Zambeck's kill tied the game at nine
- UNOH took 6-of-9 to jump out to a 15-12 advantage, leading to an LTU timeout
- Charley Klint service ace brought the Blue Devils within three (15-18)
- The Racers took the last six straight, taking the set 25-17
Second Set:
- Klint's kill gives LTU a 13-9 advantage
- UNOH again, grabs 7-of-10, knotting the game at 16, leading to an LTU timeout
- A Lindsay Hubler kill gave the Blue Devils a 19-17 lead
- UNOH snatched the next five points, now leading 22-19
- LTU tries to come back down the streh, getting as close as 23-21, but fall in set 2, 25-22
Third Set:
- Marriya Henry's kill gave the Blue Devils an early 9-4 lead
- Nya Matley kept the UNOH deficit at five with her kill (14-9, LTU)
- Three straight Racer attack errors gave LTU a comfortable 24-14 advantage
- UNOH scored the next seven consecutive points to cut the deficit to three
- Hubler ends the set with a ferocious kill, earning LTU the third set 25-21
Fourth Set:
- Racers jump out to an early 7-2 lead, focring an early LTU timeout
- The Blue Devils clawed back to 15-14, after taking 12-of-20
- Henry's block brought LTU within one, once again, at 21-20
- UNOH would close it out taking 4-of-5 to win the match 25-21.
