Box Score ADRIAN, Mich. – The Lawrence Technological University football team led 14-10 early in the second quarter but could not score the rest of the day, falling 34-14 to the Siena Heights University Saints on Saturday afternoon.
First Half:
- SHU recovered an on-side kick to start the game, leading to a 47-yard field goal.
- SHU rushed one in from 2-yards out on its next possession to jump out to a 10-0 lead.
- LTU responded on its next drive as Tyler Kulka connected with Kendyl Williams for a 22-yard TD strike, 10-7 SHU halfway through the first quarter.
- The LTU defense forced a 3 & Out and the offense drove it 85 yards in eight plays with Justin Cantu plunging into the end zone from 1-yard out, 14-10 LTU.
- SHU had to settle for a chip shot field goal (23-yards) after an LTU goal-line stand, LTU 14, SHU 13, 14:01 left in the second quarter.
- This time, LTU would be stuffed at the SHU 3 on a 4th & 1 for a turnover on downs.
- SHU added another touchdown before the half to hold a six-point advantage, 20-14.
Second Half:
- SHU took advantage of a drive start on the LTU 25 to go ahead 27-14 on a 24-yard pitch and catch with 4:48 remaining in the third quarter.
- LTU answered by driving the ball to the SHU 6 but were turned away on a 4th & Goal, with the chance to make it a one-score game heading to the fourth.
- SHU used a 73-yard pass play on the ensuing possession to set up a 1-yard QB sneak into the end zone to cap off the 34-14 victory.
