Utica, Mich. - The Lawrence Technological Blue Devils baseball team hosted Saginaw Valley State in their home opener. The Cardinals came away 6-0 winners.

• Jay Gallant got the start for the Blue Devils, he pitched three innings, giving up one run (earned) on two hits and four walks, striking out two.
• SVSU jumped out ahead in the second inning on Jeffrey Reseigh's single down through the right side scoring Jaccar Watkins, giving them a 1-0 lead
• The Cardinals added three in the fifth with Parker Jatczak's big fly to left, scoring Connor McClennen followed by Todd Paperd's double scoring Martin Money
• Two sac flies in the sixth gave SVSU a 6-0 lead
• Christopher Schmees kept the Blue Devils quiet, pitching 8.2 innings holding the Blue Devils to six hits and five walks, striking out three
• Gallant was tagged with the loss
• Jackson Walkowiak led the team with two hits
• Nathan Brown extends his hitting streak to five
