Beverly Hills, MI - The Lawrence Technological University softball team played a doubleheader at home against Northwestern Ohio University on Saturday afternoon. The hot bats for the Blue Devils in game one led to a 16-2 (Final 5) victory. Game two went in the Racers favor as they stole game two 7-3.
Callie Tatum had a monstrous day at the plate for LTU, combining to go 7-for-8 with a HR, 5 RBI, 5 R. Freshman
Lily Morrissette had a day as well, going 5-for-7 with 4 RBI, 3 2B, R.
How It Happened: Game One - LTU 16, UNOH 2 F/5
- LTU got off to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning Tatum singled to bring around Gloriana Su'a and Sarah Hige after a fielding error.
- The next batter, Morrissette drove in another run after her sacrifice fly to left field scoring Tatum.
- In the bottom of the second, Larissa Mercado was in the box and hit a RBI single up the middle to score Mazie Lawler.
- Lauren Fife and Tatum brought in a pair of runs in the same inning to extend the lead to 7-0Â after two.
- A Denning home run got the Racers on the board for their first run of the game.
- In the bottom of the third, the Blue Devils left two runners on base on no runs.
- LTU got hot in the bottom of the fourth scoring nine runs on six hits and six RBI.
- Morrissette hit two doubles and three RBI's in the inning, Lawler and Mercado both hit RBI singles.
- Hige was hit by a pitch to drive in Chloe Carpenter from third.
- The Blue Devils would shut down the Racers in the top of the fifth to win the game 16-2.

- Grace Roeske was on the bump in the first game pitching 3.0 innings only giving up two hits on two runs

How It Happened: Game Two - LTU 3, UNOH 7
- UNOH led off the scoring in the top of the first after a Johnson single to left field and an RBI sacrifice fly.
- Tatum had herself a day hitting another RBI double to left center to drive in Hige in the bottom of the first.
- Tying up the game at two was Su'a after she doubled down the left field line to bring Tatum across the plate.
- In the top of the second, Johnson was up again for UNOH and hit one over the fence to extend the lead to 4-2.
- The Blue Devils went scoreless in the bottom half of the inning on just one hit.
- Lenke and Ankney both homered in the third and fourth inning to go up 6-2 after four.
- LTU left two runners on base and no runs in the bottom of the fourth.
- A RBI double down the left field line for the Racers made it 7-2 after six.
- Tatum stepped up to the plate in the bottom of the seventh and hit a bomb over the fence to cut the lead to 7-3.
- The Blue Devils could not rally in the final inning as they would drop game two by a final of 7-3.
