HOWELL, Mich. -- The Lawrence Tech men's soccer team battled against the Cougars of Cleary in a battle of WHAC foes. Cleary came away with the 1-0 victory to hand the Blue Devils their first conference loss of the season.
Senior keeper
Kieran Malachino started the game for the Blue Devils. Cleary only got three shots on goal, but were able to put one through the net on a penalty kick in the 27th minute.
The Blue Devils applied offensive pressure in the both halves, outshooting Cleary in both halves (13-3 in the first half, 11-5 in the second). Despite that, Cleary's Austin Freemire (10 saves) would turn them away at every opportunity.
The Blue Devils continue on the road on Wednesday, October 18 against Cornerstone University for a 7:00pm kickoff.
