SOUTHFIELD, Mich. — The Lawrence Technological University Blue Devils women's volleyball team faced off against a UNOH who fought hard to ruin Senior Night. The Blue Devils would need all five sets to defeat them: 18-25, 26-24, 25-21, 24-26, 16-14.
Prior to the match, Marriya Henry, Kristen Hankins, and Hannah Resnick were honored for their accomplishments with the volleyball program.
Henry, a fifth-year senior from Detroit, had her best offensive performance of the season—and arguably of her career—with 13.5 points (12 kills).
Hankins, a grad transfer from Farmington Hills, also stood out defensively by leading the team with 8 blocks (3 solo, 5 assists) continuing the stellar defensive play we've seen from her all season.
Senior Riley O'Connell also pitched in with 9 kills and 3 blocks (all assists) for 10.5 points. She will return for a fifth season.
While it was time to honor seniors, freshman Maria Trevino Nunez made it known that she's a force to be reckoned with, leading the team in points (14.0) and kills (13) en route to the win against the Racers.
The Blue Devils (12-9, 10-7) look to keep the winning streak alive at Don Ridler Field House on Saturday afternoon at 1pm against Indiana Tech.
