Women's Basketball Claws Cougars for First Victory of the Season, 58-36

Gracie Bobo led the Blue Devils with 15 points off the bench

SOUTHFIELD--Sophomore Gracie Bobo scored a career- and team-high 15 points on five treys as the Lawrence Tech women's basketball team picked up its first win of the season over visiting Cleary, 58-36, in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference game at Don Ridler Field House on Saturday. The Blue Devils improve to 1-3 overall and 1-1 in the WHAC, while the Cougars are 0-4 on the season after their conference opener.

  • Junior Maggie Long added 10 points and two steals.
  • Senior Jade Faris (6 points) pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds and dished three assists.
  • Sophomore Kate Jacobs (7 points) tied Faris with a game-high three assists while contributing eight rebounds and three blocked shots.

  • Amy Jackson scored a game-high 16 points while getting three rebounds.

  • Lawrence Tech, which never trailed, started the game on a 14-2 run in the first five minutes, culminating with five consecutive points by freshman Liv Linden on a pair of free throws and a three-point field goal.
