Nathaniel Ward led all scorers with a career-high 28 points, but Lawrence Tech couldn't recover from an 18-point first-half deficit in a tough 91-85 loss at the hands of host Indiana Tech in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference men's basketball action at the Schaefer Center on Wednesday evening. The Blue Devils slip to 5-4 on the season, including 2-2 in the WHAC, while the Warriors improve to 3-4 overall and 2-1 in the conference.

How it Happened
- Indiana Tech made five more free throws (21-36) than LTU attempted (8-16), but the Blue Devils shot well below their 70.0 percent average on the season.
- The Warriors, who never trailed, opened the game with an 8-0 lead before the Blue Devils clawed back to tie it 10-10 on a Giannoultsis trey with 16 minutes and 11 seconds left in the first half.
- After another Giannoultsis 3ball tied the score 13-13, the Warriors eventually built their biggest lead of the game at 46-28 with 1:38 to go. Indiana Tech led 47-32 at halftime.
- Trailing 77-62 with 7:15 to go in the contest, LTU started to make its comeback bid with a 19-8 run to close within 85-81 on a McEvans 3-pointer with 2:07 left.
- But the Blue Devils couldn't get any closer than that as the Warriors went 6-for-8 at the free throw stripe the rest of the way to seal the win.
