BOSTON, Mass. - The Lawrence Technological Blue Devils Hockey team made it to nationals. The Blue Devils came into the tournament as an at-large bid, having to play into the tournament, with the winner of the play-in game to face top-seeded Minot State. They took on a familiar foe, the pesky Michigan-Dearborn Wolverines in the play-in game and ultimately fell 5-2.
Liam Bland got the scoring started early, with an assist from
Dylan Magdich and
Blake Heier, before the team allowed four unanswered goals.Â
Sean Pilet netted a shorthanded goal to bring LTU within two, but an empty net goal for the Wolverines shut down any Blue Devil attempt at a comeback.
The Wolverines really had the Blue Devils number this year, handing LTU each of their final four losses of the season.
This spells the end to the LTU D1 hockey season, finishing 25-10, 16-8 WHAC.
