Baseball Stymied by Indiana Tech

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 DETROIT, Mich. - The Lawrence Technological University baseball team played a doubleheader against Indiana Tech on Sunday. 

How It Happened: Game One - IIT 3, LTU 2
  • Jason Erhardt breaks the 0-0 tie in the fourth, singling in Nick Olsen and Jackson Walkowiak
  • Jayden Reed singled and plated a run for Indiana Tech in the fifth
  • Reed tripled in a run to tie the game at 2 in the seventh
  • Two batters later, the Warriors brought in Reed to give them their first lead of the afternoon
  • The Blue Devils had 2 on with 2 outs, but could not get the job done.
How It Happened: Game Two - IIT 15, LTU 0
  • The Warriors string together 6 consecutive two-out hits to score 5 runs in the first
  • In the third, Indiana Tech had the bases loaded with 1 out, they came away with 2 run to extend the lead to 7-0
  • A two-run bomb in the fourth extended their advantage to nine
  • The fifth inning led to three more Warrior runs, led by a 2-run shot to right
  • In the seventh, four straight batters reached, leading to three more runs for Indiana Tech. 
The next Blue Devils game is on Wednesday, March 29th when they play Michigan Dearborn at Jimmy John's stadium in Utica. The first pitch of game one will be thrown at 1:00 PM.
