ANN ARBOR, Mich.--Esports head coaches in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) have voted in the 2023 Rocket League season preseason poll, where Lawrence Tech has been chosen to finish in fourth place with 40 points--just one shy of third-place Indiana Tech.

The 2023 Rocket League WHAC Championships are scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 11.

"We are really excited to be venturing into our third year of having an Esports team at LTU," said head coach Danielle Sirekis. "We have grown in more ways than just competition and want to continue this trend into the 2023-24 season. Our team has been working really hard on teamwork and becoming a cohesive unit. We are also excited to be hosting the WHAC Esports Championship this year."

LTU Rocket League coach Kyle Kube added, "With Trevor Miller serving as our captain playing in his final WHAC season for us, we're very excited to see what our team can accomplish. His dedication and leadership abilities have really galvanized the team. Under his leadership, teammates competed on their own throughout the summer and he also conducted practices on his own time to help his teammates improve. He was our most improved player last season, helping lead us to a third-place WHAC finish. We are excited for this season after building on a successful offseason and positive results in 2022-23."

Defending champion Rochester is the preseason favorite, followed up by last year's runner-up Siena Heights.
