At the Helm: Detroit native Avante Mitchell is 10-13 entering his fourth season as the Blue Devils head coach. He first came to LTU in 2019 as the team's defensive coordinator.

Coach Mitchell at the Mic: "I feel that we just completed our best training camp during my tenure here at LTU. We've focused on ourselves and the things we need to do to improve in order for us to put a competitive product on the field this season. We are excited and look forward to playing an opponent instead of hitting the same colors.
  • "In order for us to win Saturday, it will take a total team effort. We must execute at a high level. We must create situations that play into our favor. We must stay away from third and longs offensively. Conversely, our defense must create take-a-ways and keep their offense off balance. Winning the special teams battle is another key element needed for our team's success this upcoming Saturday.
  • "Our mindset will be very simple this season--that is going 1-0 this week and each week thereafter.
  • "We lost a loved one and member of our team in Caleb Kelley last December. We will honor Caleb and his family by dedicating this season to his memory."
Experience is Back: The Blue Devils have six returning starters on offense and seven on the defensive side of the ball, while all specialists are back.
