At the Helm: Detroit native Avante Mitchell is 11-14 in his fourth season as the Blue Devils head coach. He first came to LTU in 2019 as the team's defensive coordinator. He also has collegiate coaching experience at Concordia-Ann Arbor, Taylor and NCAA Division II Northwood.

Coach Mitchell at the MIC: "USF is a very good program. They are an explosive team with quite a few good athletes, including their trio of brothers that drives their ship. We will have to move play with elite leverage and undying pursuit in order for us to be successful this weekend. Winning the special teams battle will be another key element needed for our success. We look forward to the opportunity to share the field with them this Saturday."
Last Time Out: Donald Dillon forced a fumble with 1 minute and 26 seconds remaining in the game that gave the Lawrence Tech defense its third takeaway of the night, securing the Blue Devils' 21-19 non-conference comeback win over visiting Ave Maria. Freshman quarterback Alex Osman made his first career start an efficient one by completing 11 of 15 passes for 173 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Jalen Wallace led LTU with 101 receiving yards on three catches--one of them an 80-yard TD that gave the Blue Devils the lead for good, 14-13, in the third quarter. Andrew Perkins III led all defensive players with 15 total tackles including six solo.

Experience is Back: The Blue Devils have six returning starters on offense and seven on the defensive side of the ball, while all specialists are back.

Charting Rembert: Fellow All-MSFA choice Jaden Rembert, a junior, ranks third on the program's all-time list with 1,252 receiving yards (No. 1: Kendyl Williams, 2015, 2018-22) and third with 84 catches (No. 1: CJ Thompson, 155, 2018-19 and '21-22).
