FINDLAY, Ohio--The Mid-States Football Association Monday named Lawrence Tech sophomore punter
Carter Dixon the MSFA Mideast Special Teams Player of the Week. This marks Dixon's first weekly honor of his career and is the Blue Devils' first representative of 2023.
A Homestead High School product out of Fort Wayne, Ind., Dixon averaged a season's best 46.3 yards per punt, including three that landed inside the 20-yard line. A week after setting the MSFA's longest punt of 2023 (70 yards--1 shy of the school record), he connected for a 54-yarder at Olivet Nazarene.
Before today, Marquise Thorns was the last MSFA Special Teams POW for LTU during the opening week of 2021.
