- The Blue Devils also had a deeper bench by outscoring SHU's, 33-14.
- After SHU went on a 14-3 run over a span of almost 5 minutes to erase LTU's biggest lead of 14 points (57-43) to cut the deficit to 60-57 with 2 minutes and 25 seconds left in the game, McEvans and senior Alejandro Gonzalez (9 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists) hit crucial corner treys to rebuild the lead to 66-57 with 72 seconds remaining to seal it. The latter 3ball was set up by a Ward steal.
- Lawrence Tech led 31-29 at halftime despite shooting 27.8 percent from the field in the first half, when SHU made 48.1 percent of its attempts.
- Siena Heights took its last lead on a traditional three-point play by Williams that made the score 37-34 at the18:01 mark of the second half.
- Beavers then made a layup that ignited LTU's big run on its way to a 14-point cushion later in the half.
- In the early going, the contest featured four ties and five lead changes.
