Dominique Evans made a crucial free throw in the waning seconds, to lift Lawrence Tech to a 64-62 victory Wednesday over host Michigan-Dearborn in Wolverine–Hoosier Athletic Conference women's basketball action at the UM-Dearborn Wolverines Field House. The Blue Devils up their overall record to 9-11 and 7-7 in the WHAC, while the Wolverines fall to 1-18 on the season and 0-13 in the conference.
Lawrence Tech Highlights
- Jacobs led the Blue Devils with 15 points and 13 rebounds.
- Faris scored 13 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and led all student-athletes in both assists (4) and steals (3).
- Evans added 11 points, four rebounds, two assists and three steals.
UM-Dearborn Highlights
- Maya Barakat posted game highs of 24 points, 16 rebounds and two blocked shots.

- Evans was fouled with 5 seconds left in the game and LTU leading 63-62 when she made one of two free throw attempts.
- The Wolverines had the last possession but could not get off a shot before the final buzzer.
- The game proved to be a close affair as it featured eight ties and 11 lead changes, with neither team holding more than a two-possession lead.
- The Wolverines held leads of 16-15 after one quarter, 32-28 at halftime and 50-46 at the end of three quarters.
- The Blue Devils took the lead for good with 5 minutes and 34 seconds remaining when freshman DeDe Smith (9 points, 6 rebounds) converted a fastbreak layup to make the score 56-55.
- Lawrence Tech made the most of 11 UMD turnovers by outscoring the Wolverines 16-6 on turnovers.
