SOUTHFIELD--Senior
Brandon Beavers recorded game highs of 29 points and nine rebounds, but it wasn't enough for Lawrence Tech to overcome a tough 72-70 defeat at the hands of visiting Aquinas in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference men's basketball action on Wednesday night at the Don Ridler Field House.
The Blue Devils snap their modern-day school record five-game winning streak to fall to 13-8 overall and 9-6 in the WHAC, while the Saints improve to 11-10 on the season and 8-7 in the conference.
Lawrence Tech Highlights
- Senior Alejandro Gonzalez scored 12 points and led the team with three assists.
- Junior Blake Lund came off the bench to net 14 points, including 9-for-9 from the free throw stripe.
Aquinas Highlights
- Donovan Brown-Boyd led AQ with 25 points and eight rebounds.
How it Happened
- After Menalito McGee missed both free throws, LTU still had a chance to tie or win the game as Beavers grabbed the defensive rebound and got off a half-court shot that just missed the mark as the final buzzer sounded.

- Aquinas leads the all-time series 20-4.
Up Next
- Lawrence Tech returns to The Don on Saturday (3 p.m.) when it hosts WHAC foe Rochester University.
